We  offer courses that support English language competence across the University, using relevant and digital modes as well as conventional methods developing and producing our own content and materials. The department offers programs at the under graduate, post graduate and doctoral levels with courses dedicated to the intersections of Gender, Spatiality, Ecology and Service Learning, exploring newer modes and fields of narratives and the concerns of these developments. We provide extension services and consultancies through our in-house Incubation Cell. Apart from academic writing, our faculty is graced by poets, novelists, translators and writers and most of us are connoisseurs of the Arts. We support Art and the Artists through festivals, deliberations and other avenues of creative partnerships. Our students are sojourners with us in this quest for Beauty and Truth… thoughts and ideas being the hope for the betterment of Self and Society, persuaded by Dostoevsky that ‘Beauty will save the world’ … the beauty of the human spirit, the relentless pursuit of truths in the hope eternal of a better world.

Vision

Towards critically reading Self, Society and the Imagined.
